Inauguration of Segment 1
That’s great news! Today, Segment 1 of the Mayan Train was inaugurated, enabling travel from Palenque, Chiapas to Cancun, Quintana Roo (Segment 1,2,3,4)

The ticket price is per station or stop. Although it’s possible to get off before reaching your destination, the same ticket is no longer valid to continue the journey. You’ll need to purchase another ticket to continue traveling.
Update Ticket Mayan Train
The sale of tickets for the Tren Maya is currently carried out in two different ways:
Physical centers: Cancun Station, Campeche Station and Palenque Station.
Online, through the following link: https://www.trenmaya.gob.mx/
Depending on how the tickets are purchased, there are different considerations.
Online purchase: Only tickets for the complete route, either from Cancun – Campeche – Palenque or from Campeche – Cancun – Palenque, can be acquired.
Physical purchase: Offers more flexibility, allowing travel in shorter segments, a wider range of dates, and discounts for locals and people with disabilities.
The train rides on the Mayan train allow emotional support animals.

The inauguration of the Mayan Train
Today, the S.F. Campeche – Cancun Airport stretch of the Mayan Train was inaugurated with only 4 Standard Mayan Train. It’s important to note that by June 2024, all Stations and Stops are planned to be operational for boarding and alighting.
Starting tomorrow, December 16, 2023, the train will be open to the public.
