The president of the Mexican Association of Hotels in Yucatán (AMHY), Juan José Martín Pacheco, announced an exciting initiative that promises to transform the tourist experience in the region: the Maya Pass. This innovative pass aims to facilitate tourist mobility along the Tren Maya route, offering standardized lodging rates and unprecedented access to the most emblematic destinations in southeastern Mexico.
A Pass to Explore the Maya Route: Maya Pass
The Maya Pass will allow travelers to enjoy an integrated experience, enabling them to hop on and off at any Tren Maya destination and stay in various locations with pre-established rates. Available in weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly formats, this pass seeks to promote tourism and facilitate the exploration of the rich culture and natural beauty of Yucatán and neighboring states.
“Presenting the Maya Pass grants access to preferential rates at any location along the Tren Maya route. Yucatán is ready, and we are working to integrate Quintana Roo, Campeche, Chiapas, and Tabasco into this project,” explained Martín Pacheco.
A Project in Progress
Although the Maya Pass is ready to be launched, its implementation will depend on the stability of the Tren Maya schedules. “We need to be a little patient. We planned to launch it in July or August, but we are waiting for the schedules to be confirmed so we can sit down with the Tren Maya’s commercial department and finalize this great product,” stated the AMHY president.
Reviving the Mundo Maya
The Maya Pass aims not only to increase the influx of tourists but also to revive the spirit of the Mundo Maya program, active in the 2010s. This pass will offer tourists the opportunity to efficiently explore Yucatán’s multiple points of interest, from paradisiacal beaches and archaeological sites to magical towns and nature reserves.
“The Maya Pass will provide travelers with the opportunity to efficiently explore Yucatán’s points of interest, strengthening the local tourism industry and generating benefits for communities,” affirmed Martín Pacheco.
Towards Balanced Tourism with the Tren Maya and Maya Pass
In addition to boosting tourism, the Maya Pass will contribute to a more balanced distribution of visitors in the region, promoting visits to lesser-known but equally impressive destinations.
“This innovative project promises to mark a before and after in how tourists experience Yucatán, making the state an even more attractive and accessible destination for travelers from all over the world,” concluded the AMHY president.
